Join the Museum & Arts Center for a rip-roaring good time during Lavender Weekend at the MAC's first-ever Barn Dance fundraiser!
The dance is Saturday, July 20 at 7 Cedars Casino in Blyn, and will feature regionally-based country blues band Cort Armstrong and Blue Rooster. The doors open at 6 p.m., and food and drink will be available for purchase.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door or in advance at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. in Sequim. Tickets are NOW AVAILABLE! Call 360-683-8110 for details.

"Cow and Forever" Exhibit Members Reception: June 19 |

All Museum & Arts Center members are invited to celebrate National Dairy Month with the MAC!
A members reception to open the new "Cow and Forever" history exhibit about local dairies and creameries will be 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 19 at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. in Sequim.
All current and lifetime MAC members are encouraged to attend, as are those who join or renew at the door. Membership forms are available at the MAC Exhibit Center or by CLICKING HERE.
The exhibit will include a fake life-size dairy cow, on loan from the Bekkevar family, that visitors can try their hand at milking. The cow makes its debut at the members reception.

Northwest Collage Society Exhibit in June & July |

The MAC showcases the art of collage in June and July with the Northwest Collage Society Summer Exhibit.
Twenty-three Northwest Collage Society members of diverse artistic backgrounds and from across western Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia, Canada, contributed 50 pieces to the show. All of the artwork is for sale.
Join us for an artist reception from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 7 at the MAC Exhibit Center, as part of the First Friday Art Walk Sequim (color theme: WHITE). The reception is sponsored by the Northwest Collage Society, and will feature the country/blues/oldies stylings of musician Victor Reventlow.
Established in 1984 to advance the stature of collage as a major art medium, the Seattle-based Northwest Collage Society is an affiliate of the nonprofit National Collage Society, Inc. With membership spanning the Pacific Northwest, the organization works to assist in the education of its members and the public through exhibits, workshops, lectures and publications.
The Northwest Collage Society Summer Exhibit is on display through July 27, 2013, at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. in Sequim. The MAC Exhibit Center is operating on its summer hours of 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.

"Gilbert & Sullivan" @ Dungeness Schoolhouse |

The Dungeness Schoolhouse auditorium stage is set for the 2013 production of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado, directed by Dewey Ehling!
Show dates are June 21-23 and June 28-30. Proceeds benefit Readers Theatre Plus, Peninsula Singers, and the Museum & Arts Center.

MAC's Monthly Summer Swap Meets: May-August |

There will be four MAC swap meets this summer, held on the fourth Saturday of the month from May-August 2013.
LOCATION: DeWitt Administration Center (field), 544 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim (located directly across from the brick section of Sequim High School)
TIME: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
DATES: Saturdays = May 25, June 22, July 27, August 24
The cost for renting a 10x10-foot selling space is $15 per swap. THERE IS NO ADVANCE SIGNUP = SELLERS PAY ON THE DAY.
Sellers can sell their items on tables, blankets, out of vehicles, or whatever method they choose. Equipment will not be provided by the MAC.

"Hall-Adams Family Exhibit" Opening Reception: July 13 |
|

The new "Hall-Adams Family Exhibit" debuts this summer with an opening reception from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 13 at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. in Sequim. The reception, sponsored by 7 Cedars Casino, is free and open to the public.
The exhibit, housed within the permanent Jamestown S'Klallam Longhouse Exhibit, showcases the artistic talents of those who descend from the late Jacob "Jake" Hall, including Ann Adams, Mary Adams, Pat Adams, Robert Adams, Stephanie Adams, Danielle Lawson, Florence Monson, Jeff Monson and Jeremy Monson. Featured items include a buckskin dress, drum, short story, photographs, carvings, and numerous cedar and beading projects.
The exhibit will remain on display through December 2013. The MAC Exhibit Center is operating on its summer hours of 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
The Jamestown S'Klallam Longhouse Exhibit features rotating collections of artwork and artifacts of cultural significance, and is a cooperative endeavor between the Museum & Arts Center and the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe.

Free Summer Art Demos @ MAC Exhibit Center |

The MAC continues to present free art demos this summer at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. in Sequim!
Tuesday, June 18 @ 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: Quilt Making with Friendship Quilters
For the demo, members of the Friendship Quilters will present such techniques as hand-piecing, hand-appliqué and hand-quilting, and will display examples of finished pieces.
All demos are open to the public and light refreshments provided. MAC Exhibit Center admission is a suggested $2 donation for adults and children free.

MAC "Mystery Items" Revealed! |

Every few months, a new "Mystery Item" from the MAC Collection goes on display at the MAC Exhibit Center for the public to identify! Correct guesses are entered into a raffle to win a copy of the local history book Sequim Pioneer Family Histories, From: 1850 to 1962. Visit the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. in Sequim, to view the current Mystery Item and enter your guess! Artifact IDs and raffle winners are announced in the MAC Newsletter and here on the MAC website.
